ELS Design Brief

Kitchen choices

Pick a delivery palette for your style, a FLYHOME kitchen set, and Recommended or Enhanced for each kitchen item — or “Not sure”. Your shortlist lists these choices for you to take to ALUMAX for a quotation.

Saved to your brief on this device. It leaves the device only when you send it: with your details to ELS, or in a message you send yourself. Nothing here is a price, an order or an approval. ← ELS Design Brief

ELS draft, pending approval. Each option is a neutral specification; ALUMAX binds the model, price and lead time in its quotation.

Recommended
ELS's preferred specification: suitable, coordinated, maintainable and cost-controlled.
Enhanced
A justified upgrade in operation, durability, comfort, finish or serviceability.

Safety and suitability remain the baseline in both choices.

“Not sure” keeps an item open: your brief and your shortlist list it as a question to settle before the quotation.

1 · Your style

The palettes follow your style. Changing it here changes the style saved in your brief.

Your style

2 · Palette

Design reference. Physical sample approval required; finish codes come from ALUMAX's commercial schedule.

Pick your style first; the palettes follow it.

3 · FLYHOME kitchen set

The set is saved as the layout key ALUMAX's planner opens. It carries no price, and the arrangement is subject to a site measurement.

Cabinet fronts and edges

RQ-cab-kitchen.fronts

Recommended

One front material from decision set DS114, chosen at the palette's sample review, in the palette's main and secondary finishes, with matching edges on all four sides. Finish codes come from ALUMAX's commercial schedule.

Enhanced

The harder-wearing DS114 front for a working kitchen, in the same palette finishes and with the same edge rule.

What it buys: Durability: hard-wearing fronts in a working kitchen, the most scratch-resistant of the DS114 materials, for households that cook daily.

Price difference: in ALUMAX's quotation.

Handles

RQ-cab-kitchen.handles

Recommended

A Gola profile: a handleless channel along the run, in the palette's accent metal.

Enhanced

An integrated edge pull in the palette's accent metal.

What it buys: Comfort: a quieter line than a bar pull while keeping a real finger grip on every front.

A Bespoke-tier refinement over a standard Gola profile; whether a package includes it, and the final price, are confirmed in ALUMAX's quotation.

Price difference: in ALUMAX's quotation.

Dry-run carcass

RQ-cab-kitchen.dry-carcass

Recommended

A board carcass for the dry runs, as ELS's dry-zone material rule specifies: FLYHOME's P6 platform where its material specification is appropriate to the room and moisture zone.

Enhanced

An aluminium carcass on the dry runs as well as the wet ones, so the whole kitchen uses one construction.

What it buys: Durability: one aluminium construction throughout, for households that clean with a lot of water or want the dry runs built like the sink run.

Price difference: in ALUMAX's quotation.

Your choice for this item

Sink-base carcass

RQ-cab-kitchen.sink-base

Recommended

The construction the sink-base rule gives for this kitchen: protected P6 with ALUMAX's listed protections when both conditions are recorded; otherwise an aluminium carcass.

Enhanced

An aluminium carcass at the sink run whatever the measurement finds: an aluminium frame with ACP infill, or an aluminium honeycomb panel. Where ALUMAX's site measurement rules P6 unsuitable, both options are aluminium and this option names the aluminium system.

What it buys: Serviceability: a sink base that does not depend on the P6 protections or on the site measurement's outcome, for kitchens with heavy water use or a history of leaks.

Price difference: in ALUMAX's quotation.

As recorded today: conditions open, so aluminium is specified.

Protected P6 is allowed under a kitchen sink only with ALUMAX's listed protections — foil, sealed edges and penetrations, a raised bottom edge and a leak inspection — and where ALUMAX's site measurement finds P6 suitable. Where that measurement rules P6 unsuitable, ELS specifies aluminium.

Storage internals

RQ-cab-kitchen.storage

Recommended

Adjustable shelves in the base and tall units, and hinged wall-unit doors.

Enhanced

Full-extension trays or inner drawers in the base units, and lift-up wall-unit doors where the wall run allows.

What it buys: Operation: the back of a deep base cabinet becomes as reachable as the front, and a clean opening above the work zone with nothing at head height.

Price difference: in ALUMAX's quotation.

Your choice for this item

Worktop and edge

RQ-cab-kitchen.worktop

Recommended

A worktop from one of the material families in ELS's kitchen survey, chosen against your ranked priorities at the palette's sample review, about 20 mm, with a square or eased edge.

Enhanced

A worktop chosen for your top-ranked demand, with a thicker mitred edge or a matching upstand at the wall.

What it buys: Durability and finish: a surface chosen for the demand you ranked first, with a heavier edge or a matching upstand that closes the wall junction.

Price difference: in ALUMAX's quotation.

Your choice for this item

Backsplash

RQ-surf-wall.backsplash

Recommended

Plain porcelain tile at the wet wall; washable paint on a genuinely dry pantry wall.

Enhanced

A large-format slab at the wet wall, or a sintered porcelain slab at the pantry.

What it buys: Serviceability: the easiest wet-kitchen surface to keep clean, with the fewest joints to hold grease.

Price difference: in ALUMAX's quotation.

Your choice for this item

Sink and tap

RQ-wet-plumbing.kitchen-sink

Recommended

One large bowl or one-and-a-half bowls, top-mount or undermount as the worktop allows, with a single-lever mixer in the palette's accent metal.

Enhanced

An undermount or integrated sink with a pull-out mixer, in the palette's accent metal.

What it buys: Comfort and cleaning: a worktop edge that wipes straight into the bowl, and a spray that reaches every corner of the sink.

Price difference: in ALUMAX's quotation.

Your choice for this item

Cabinet and task lighting

RQ-light-led.kitchen-task

Recommended

Task lighting under the wall units over the worktop, on its own switch, in one colour temperature across the kitchen.

Enhanced

Layered lighting: ambient, task and accent light on separate circuits, with dimming or scene control.

What it buys: Comfort: light set for cooking, cleaning or evening use without changing fittings.

Price difference: in ALUMAX's quotation.

Set by one specification or a specialist

  • Concealed plumbing, drainage and leak protection RQ-wet-plumbing.concealedOne specification: concealed plumbing, traps and drainage, with access kept at the sink base for leak inspection. You appoint the plumbing trade.

  • Appliances RQ-elec-appliances.kitchenYour own appliance models: their dimensions, cut-outs, ventilation and clearances are recorded before fabrication.
  • Switches and sockets RQ-elec-points.kitchenOne switch and socket family across the kitchen, its plate finish coordinated with the palette; your electrician confirms the points.
  • Kitchen circuits RQ-elec-circuits.kitchenDedicated circuits for the hob, oven and fixed appliances, sized by your licensed electrician against the property's capacity.
