ELS Design Brief

Bathroom brief

Tell us about your bathroom: who uses it, what is failing, what stays and which fittings you have chosen. You can prepare a bathroom brief without a kitchen.

Saved to your brief on this device. It leaves the device only when you send it yourself. Nothing here is a price, an order or an approval. ← ELS Design Brief

Prepare your bathroom brief

Four steps, read from the answers saved on this device. “Not sure”, “Undecided” and “Ask ELS” count as answers: you can ask ELS about them in your enquiry. Who answers these steps: you, the client.

Concealed drainage, floor levels, waterproofing and services stay unverified until they are inspected on site. No answer, photo or approval on this page verifies them.

Needs and problems

Who uses the bathroom, any accessibility need, and what is uncomfortable, difficult to clean or failing.

Scope, budget and responsibility

Where the property is, the budget, the timing, the service you want and who manages the site.

Tools for this step: Pre-Check · Delivery route and main contractor (your ELS Design Brief)

Existing site and condition

The bathroom's rough size and layout, what happens to the existing work, how wet and dry areas are separated, and whether the water and power points stay or move.

Tools for this step: Room dimensions · Layout tool · Decision journey: existing work, wet and dry, service points

Fixtures and equipment register

Each fitting: retain existing, selected, undecided or ask ELS, with the model and size where you know them.

Your fixtures and equipment

Add a card for each fitting, existing or new. A size you type stays client-entered: ELS checks exact models against their datasheets and installation documents. Send a photo or a manual by WhatsApp or email; nothing is uploaded here.

Review your bathroom design

What happens in this step once you commission a design: the ELS designer draws the layout from measured dimensions, checks the actual fixture models against their installation documents, and coordinates the drainage, waterproofing, power, lighting and ventilation with you. Your proposal sets the scope.

This page does not track your design. The documents for your review come from ELS directly.

Tools for this step: Compare bathroom options (bathroom decisions) · Vanity tier ladder · Bathroom niche lining

A comparison that is not shown here is settled with ELS in a consultation.

Approve and prepare for work

Two separate approvals, each given in writing (a signed sheet, a WhatsApp message or an email):

  • Quotation-basis approval: you agree the scope, selections, allowances, exclusions and unresolved conditions to be priced, at their version.
  • Final design and work release: you approve the checked drawings and the exact work package for one part of the bathroom, such as the waterproofing or the shower screen, before that part is ordered or built. A quotation approval or a payment does not stand in for it.

With an ELS+ commission, the contracted scope names the inspection checkpoints that apply, for example before waterproofing is covered and before concealed services are closed. A work release does not close them.

A payment, a saved preference or a choice on this page is not an approval.

Who gives each approval: you, the client, in writing. Who prepares the documents: the ELS designer. With your own contractors, the main contractor you nominate manages the site.

Delivery and handover follow the service you commission; your proposal names who supplies and installs each part.
