A sound vanity where the money is better spent on getting the wet construction right.

Watch out

Fewer choices in front finish and hardware; the carcass material still has to suit a bathroom.

Relative cost

The entry point of the ladder.

Consequential work

Moisture zone governs regardless of tier — a vanity carcass is a wet-zone decision.

Best for

Where the vanity is a visible part of the bathroom rather than just storage.

Watch out

Easy to upgrade the front and leave the carcass and hardware under-specified.

Above Essential.

Consequential work

Separate the finish upgrade from the construction requirement; they are different decisions.

Best for

Non-standard widths, an unusual basin, or a detail that no standard unit gives.

Watch out

Longer lead time and no margin for a late basin change.

Consequential work

Basin and tap must be selected before fabrication — the cut-out is not adjustable afterwards.

Relative cost names the direct cost drivers, consequential work names what else changes, and watch out names the checks required. Exceptions and site conditions can change any of them. A relative direction, not an amount. Nothing here is a price; the figure belongs to whoever supplies the item and is set after measurement.
