Best for

Borrowing light and keeping sightlines — the most generous option spatially.

Watch out

No privacy at all, and it shows everything on both sides, including the mess.

Relative cost

The least expensive glass.

Consequential work

Decide manifestation or a visual cue at eye level so the pane reads as glass.

Best for

Privacy while still passing light — bathrooms, bedrooms, anywhere a sightline is unwanted.

Watch out

Blocks the view entirely, so the borrowed-light benefit is the only one left.

Relative cost

Moderate.

Consequential work

Confirm which side the finish faces and how it cleans.

Best for

Softening a sightline without losing the sense of light or depth — the middle answer.

Watch out

Distortion depends on distance; at close range it obscures far less than clients expect.

Above clear glass.

Consequential work

Reed direction is a design decision and should be drawn, not left to the installer.

Cost lines are relative and typical for the illustrated specification.
