Sibu Wet Kitchen: Designing Out the Swelling-Board Failure

A common Sibu situation: a wet kitchen built in moisture-resistant particleboard, where heavy wok cooking, daily washing-down and humidity had swollen the base cabinets within two years. The owner wanted a rebuild that would not repeat the same failure.

Result: Built so the wet run cannot swell or grow mould

Sibu Terrace House: A Ventilation-First Plan Against Mould

A long, narrow terrace with a dead-air middle zone — the classic Sarawak condition where trapped heat and humidity grow mould on ceilings and inside closed cabinets, sometimes within months of a previous renovation.

Kuching Shophouse: Flood-Resilient Kitchen

A typical ground-floor, flood-prone shophouse situation: a kitchen where a seasonal flood can destroy appliances and finishes, and the owner wants one designed to survive water of roughly 1.2m with minimal loss.

Result: Designed so a flood becomes a clean-up, not a rebuild: the electrics sit above the expected water line, the marine-grade stainless carcass and sealed concrete floor shrug off water, and appliances lift off their pedestals to be moved out ahead of rising water

Sibu Condo: Space Planning for Multi-Use Living

A common small-condo brief (around 900 sqft) that has to work as home office, guest bedroom and storage at once — where the existing layout feels cramped and the owner is unsure about layout and cabinet sizing.

Result: Designed so a 900 sqft condo works as home office, guest room and storage at once
